Our Faith

It is difficult to state in a brief space all the things in which we place our trust, and by which we seek to live. A few of our primary views world include the following:
1. Christ: First and foremost, we believe that God sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to dwell among us in human form, that he died on a cross as a sacrifice for our sin and on the third day arose from the dead (Luke 23 & 24 and Matthew 27&28). We believe that we receive Eternal Life when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and as Lord of our lives and that He is alive in us today. (John 3:16, 17 & 36 and Galatians 2:20). He is our assurance of life with God after death.
2. The Bible: The Scriptures are our only written authority. We believe thes sacred writings are God-breathed (II Timothy 3:16) and are essential for establishing a vital Christian Faith. No other writing before or since equals God's Word in revealing His truth and love to us.
3. Believer's Baptism: Baptism is an act of loving obedience to Christ's example and word. It is a symbol of Jesus' death and resurrection and of the newness of life which we share in Christ. Baptism is one of our responses to God's great invitation.
4. The Lord's Supper: On the first Sunday of each month we share in the Lord's Supper. The Bread and the Cup are the symbols of Christ's sacrifice for each of us. Special candelight communion services are held on Christmas Eve and Maundy Thursday as well. It is the Lord's table, and we gladly welcome all who belong to Christ, to share with us in communion with him.
